After completing an honours degree in Drama Directing (Distinction) and a BA in French and Drama from Rhodes University, South Africa, I obtained my advanced 120 hour TEFL course with Merit (A grade) through the TEFL Training College.
1 Year experience in Zaragoza, teaching General English business 121s, the military, Grammar, Vocabulary kids-adults.
Teaching in Barcelona at the moment at an academy part-time.

Before moving to Barcelona I was working in an English academy in Zaragoza. This position involved using a direct method aligned with the “Common European Framework” (CEF). I have taught all ages from 8-65 years old, Cambridge and First Certificate Exams, business classes and I am a level tester.
Through my courses in journalism, drama, and French, I have had to interact with adults as well as children and demonstrate thoroughness in my planning and execution in plays. I believe that my dedication to projects that require critical thinking, effective implementation and good communications skills has served me well in teaching. Through these experiences, I’ve grown to love teaching and wish to expand these skills further.
Having lived in Spain this past year I have personally learnt the difficulties that come with learning a new language. I believe that relating to students and their growth in a language is mandatory, and I feel that putting myself in their shoes has widened my understanding as a teacher. This has broadened my mind to what students want, and more importantly, why they want to learn English.
I am currently based in Barcelona, and am working part-time as a teacher looking to fill my hours, I am available for an interview at your convenience.
