I am intrigued by the vastness of language, expression and diversity. As a Cultural Ambassador and language teacher I share knowledge of American English language and culture, and even the differences in the American/British English language. I, too, have benefited from the interaction within a Spanish/Catalan/Mallorquín society and I have enjoyed learning about the cultures and languages within these communities. In my free time I love exercising, doing yoga and pilates, rollerskating, going on walks/bike rides, listening to podcasts and staying up-to-date on current events.

Hi! I am from the United States with a neutral American accent. I have 10 years of teaching experience and I am a certified and licensed teacher in the United States. My teaching license includes a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and I am certified in LETRS (the Science of Reading for literacy and phonics improvement). I have taught ESL in the United States, working with students from all over the world, and I've worked in bilingual public schools in Madrid, preparing students for the PET and KET exams, as well as in public schools in Palma. Other than my work in public school systems as a classroom teacher, I have taught private lessons for 10 years, preparing my students for the B1, B2 and C1 EOI and Cambridge examinations, and I have 9 years of experience teaching online. My students range from children to adults in large and small groups, and even individually. I am comfortable with teaching both British or American English, whichever you prefer. I can help with several areas of English: pronunciation, phonics, literacy and grammar, conversational and debate, vocabulary, academic, and/or basic everyday English. During class, activities will focus on enriching all four competencies of language: reading, speaking, listening and writing. I believe that learning a language should be fun, dynamic, and relatable to everyday life. I strive to create engaging and meaningful lesson objectives that ask for critical and higher-level thinking from the student. In this way, my lessons are authentic, interesting, fun, and relevant to the real world. I hope that every student will enjoy my classes and feel challenged through thought-provoking tasks.
