Acerca de Susie
I'm Susie, and I want to change these stories:
-"I’ve studied English for years – but I still can’t express myself authentically”.
- “I know the grammar rules, but I freeze up when I speak.”
- “My career progress is limited by my English.”
These are sentiments I’ve heard a lot (unfortunately!) among students. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Switching to English – and feeling good about it – is totally viable.
Coming from Scotland to Spain, I spent a decade immersed in an international context as an English teacher, trainer, manager & recruiter in Barcelona's largest English academy for adults.
I’ve seen first-hand how proficiency in English can open up incredible opportunities, lead to exciting career paths, and shape futures.
This inspired me to relocate to the Pyrenees and launch Talktips, my personal project dedicated to helping adults achieve fluency and confidence in English.
Here’s what students say about my sessions:
“Profesora dinámica, con muy buena pronunciación, y además lo que más me gusta es el método de aprendizaje que no tiene nada que ver con las academias tradicionales. Seguiré con ella bastante tiempo.” – Marc
“Con Susie el tiempo pasa rápido y hace que el inglés sea algo sencillo de resolver, además de que le entiendo todo lo que dice debido a su buena pronunciación. Ella torna de algo que suelo odiar un buen rato.” – Jessica
“Susie is the best English teacher I've ever met. Learning English is easier with her. We have practical sessions based on my needs. With her, I can prepare for work meetings and oral presentations and feel more confident. In addition, you can talk with Susie about whatever topic you want. Sessions happen quickly and are funny. If you need the English language for work, and you need to improve it, you must contact Susie.” – Paola
“Honestly, the English classes are more than good and I couldn't have found anyone better, she is amazing! I have been taking her classes for more than 9 months and I can say that I have seen the results: I have improved my vocabulary, I have lost my fear of speaking English, I have improved my CV and I am constantly setting new goals that Talktips helps me to achieve.
Susie knows how to detect very well your professional needs with the language, she gives you the tools you need (exercises, games -they are the best-audio, plus her tips). If you also want to have fun while you learn, check out her videos on social networks, I love them!” – Maria
“Reinforcing the conversation in English with Susie is an incredible experience. She is so friendly and never runs out of resources. The hour flies by. I recommend her classes without any doubt!!!” – Julia
“Susie is one of those few people who does her job with love. She has a way of teaching that is very human and fun, yet professional. In only 5 sessions I have learned a lot about English, maybe more than anything I have learned so far. The best English teacher I have ever had.” – Agustina
