Acerca de María
I have a Teacher Training Diploma from the University of Seville as well as a Masters Degree in Educational Treatment of Diversity from the National Distance Education University. Additionally, I hold a Qualified Teacher Status obtained under the terms of the European Council Directive 2005/36/EC, which applies in both Wales and England.
I have taught for the past three years at Thames Valley School in Reading. Along with my teaching experience, I have developed my leading skills for the past year in which I have coached and managed a team of eight staff and three primary classrooms. During my years in TVS I have been an active and validated member of the school, being part of the Governing Body, delivering CPD sessions and workshops for professionals in our community, organizing several school projects, coaching new teachers and learning mentors and planning outings and activities involving parents and others.
Nevertheless, what I enjoy the most is teaching, motivating and inspiring students to achieve their full potential as well as their emotional wellbeing. I have taught English at all levels and ages groups preparing students for official SAT exams, GCSE and Cambridge with excellent results.

I use teaching strategies that allow my students to be independent and self-confident members of our society. I have helped many students in England to achieve their objectives from finding a job, to preparing CVs and interviews. I have also supported young learners to prepare official exams with excellent results.
Using a methodology that devises programs which expand on previous knowledge and explore new learning possibilities. I have extensive experience working with young people with special needs, being able to adapt and personalize the curriculum to meet individuals´ needs and improve their personal and communication skills.
Therefore I use peaking as main form of learning introducing interest based activities and real life contexts and activities.
