Acerca de Carolay
Hi there! Congrats on being interested in learning this beautiful language! I have three years of experience as a Spanish tutor. I've worked for important platforms like Duolingo, and I've also worked for online schools. Throughout this time, I've learned to be adaptable and patient, qualities that every teacher needs. You are a beginner learner: We have to work on the basics. We will practice greetings, phrases to communicate while traveling, eating at restaurants, shopping... and you will learn vocabulary as well as grammar throughout the process. You have some knowledge but you want to get more confident: The same thing happens to me with English. To help you become more fluent, we will have talking sessions. I’ll be using slides with open questions and graphics, we will chat about them, talk freely and at the end of the lesson I’ll send you a list of the new words you learned during our chat. Remember, it is up to you to keep challenging yourself to improve your skills every day. However, I’ll do my part by doing follow-ups, sending you worksheets, and... why not? Doing some random questions when you’re off/base to see how much you remember from prior lessons. If you want me to help you to learn Spanish, please let me know using the Invite button. I have developed my own teaching method and materials (please take a look at them in my Portfolio, down below), and we can use them to boost your skills in the language. This is how I can help you: Thanks to repetition, your brain keeps the information more easily. Instead of giving you a list of grammar rules, I’ll help you to practice using them in real-life situations and dialogues. Before you even notice, your brain would have identified the patterns and store them. That way, Spanish will just come up beautifully from your mouth because you, almost unconsciously, have recorded on your mind the right way to speak the language! Beginners: We will have 3 lessons per week. One focused on speaking. Once you're already familiar with certain grammatical structures, we will see the theoretical part in our second lesson. In our third lesson, we will review all the information. By the end of the week, you'll have perfect domain of the topic learned. Advanced learners: We will have speaking sessions in order to acquire new vocabulary. This way you'll become more fluent and confident. I'm a native speaker of Spanish, so you'll have great practice talking with me!
